Size & Width Guide
Two minutes with a piece of paper saves most returns. Measure first, then convert, then check the per-product fit finder.
How to measure your feet at home
- Tape a sheet of paper to a hard floor against a wall. Measure in the evening, when feet are largest.
- Stand with your weight on the foot. Mark the back of your heel and the tip of your longest toe.
- Measure heel-to-toe in inches for length, and across the widest part (the ball of your foot) for width.
- Do both feet and use the larger one. Add about 1/8" to 1/4" of toe room.

Understanding width: M, N, W, and WW
Width is measured across the ball of your foot and matters as much as length. A shoe that fits in length can still pinch if the width is wrong, and sizing up only adds length, not real room.
| Letter | Width | Who it's for |
|---|---|---|
| N | Narrow | Slimmer feet that feel loose across the ball. |
| M | Medium (standard) | The default width most shoes are built in. |
| W | Wide | Feet that feel tight across the ball in standard widths. |
| WW / XW | Extra wide | The widest fit, with the most room across the forefoot and toes. |

Still between sizes?
- Lifestyle sneakers: size up a half size for a touch more room.
- Wool or knit shoes: your usual size is usually right, since the upper stretches.
- Wearing orthotics or thick socks: choose a removable-insole style and consider a wide width for depth.
